Not for myself, but have read elsewhere that some report an additional volume of sound and it seems to develope in some individuals for the first time. These reports are few and far between but it wouldn't surprise me if your noise levels go down as you reduce the dose of steroids.
I have tinnitus that started around the time I was diagnosed with PMR but the doctors have never thought there was a connection between the two. I'm not so sure, PMR is such a mysterious condition. It's so difficult to know what to do, so I just try to ignore it. A lot of medications list tinnitus as a side effect including the anti-inflammatory I take. The ENT said my tinnitus was caused by age related deafness but I read about damage to the blood vessels in the ears causing deafness/tinnitus and as PMR and GCA do the same thing I wouldn't be surprised if there was a connection.
