I was diagnosed with PMR 3 weeks ago.Before being diagnosed but during the onset of symptoms i noticed a strange but unidentifiable smell.

Erm.... not sure what the question is John. Is the question 'Is this normal?' Some of us do have a very acute sense of smell and can sense differences in our body that way. Maybe you were picking up on the chemicals in your body producing all the inflammation. It's interesting isn't it that they are now training dogs to sniff out cancer cells. I noticed that while I was on steroids the smell of my urine changed.

I noticed a heightened sense of smell on the higher doses of Pred. I don't have much sense of smell due to violent hayfever as a teenager, but I do notice quite a change in that way.

However, I'm sure I hadn't a problem with an odd smell pre-diagnosis and I can't recall coming across the question before.

Snap, I thought it was just me or that I had another problem on the way.!

My urine has had a strange smell, nothing offensive, just different, thanks for sharing that with us.

Hi,

I have had night sweats and a very strange smell also. Not b.o.

Kinda chemical smelling.

I've been on prednisone two weeks and it seems less now.
