My sister has recently had both her kidneys removed total weight of 7kg (just over 1 stone) and I thought they were big. Like honey1964's husband she is now on the transplant list. Both my kidneys are still currently in place, whoever I do look like I am about to give birth.

Make sure that you have had your adrenal glands left inside you if you have had kidneys removed. If they have not been left in it is vital you have tests for Addinsons Disease - a life threatening hormone disease. My mothers were taken out and almost died several times as she wasnt tested for it until 7 years after the operations to remove her kidneys.
