Has anyone tried ketocitra one drug with BHB that the company is making large claims about
Ketocitra: Has anyone tried ketocitra... - PKD Charity for A...
Ketocitra
I have not tried it but I am familiar with it (did research and also contacted the company. I just want to caution you. I believe the products have shown to help with PKD in mice, but have not been tested/shown useful on humans. It's possible that it works in humans, but it is a non FDA approved supplement, not a medication. You have to make sure you are aware of what is in it and run it by your doctor first. Those with advanced kidney disease should not take many supplements such as potassium, phosphorus etc.
Another thing is that the supplements are easily copied by other manufacturers and cheap to do so since there is no FDA approval and no human clinical trials. It seems like it is being rushed out to market and I would worry about the lack of concern for making sure the people that take are safe. Even if the ingredients are considered safe they haven't been tested in the quantities and long term use in PKD patients.
Again, maybe it works, that would be wonderful, I just personally wouldn't want to be the first one to try it unless it was for a clinical trial, and even then you have to sign a waiver (I've been in clinical trials before).
