How did you do it?? i would do anything to stop work, the stress and exhaustion is just too much,,not sure how long i'll keep it up,, lucky you,, good luck:)

Unless you get ESA as income based you will only receive it for 365 days on contribution based being put in the work related group means you will have to attend the job center with the view to giving you support to get back into employment ,you need to appeal again to be put in the support group of ESA

Good luck Neata

As Neata said you need to be in the Support Group to get the higher rate and for the benefit to be ongoing. :(

it's good that you have won your appeal and you should receive your back pay within eight weeks from the date of your tribuna,l at least this is what they have told me. I think you have to consider other aspects of your case at this point. For example Your current medical status. Has your medical condition improved or worsened since your ESA appeal began or has your medical status remained the same. If it has remained the same or has become worse you have to question the entire outcome of the appeal because winning your appeal verifies your were and perhaps still are, unfit or unsuitable to perform the current duties which were required of you during your original medical assessment. If there is no medical evidence of health improvement why do the appeal panel feel you would benefit in a work related group instead of a support group. If it was me, I would seek the advice from a third party who specialize with these kind of cases. This could be C A B or Dial.( Do not try and represent yourself as it may prove you are capable of doing other things) I would also get in touch with the medical records team at your local general hospital to obtain as much supportive medical evidence as possible. There will be a small fee but you must consider this as a good investment). if you still remain unfit to attend work or feel uncomfortable to attend a work related group you need to seek advice because being force to do anything you are currently incapable of will only add to your difficulties rather than erase them. Hope this is useful. I wish you well. Good Luck

Hi there

A few year back after winning my appeal I was placed in the support group, I got my backdated money about 8 weeks after, weeks after that (after I had spent the money) I was told I was entitled to pay back what I had received in housing benefit and council tax benefit (for the period I was appealing), I ended up with arrears around £500 for each, I remember at the time my welfare worker telling me this was a new thing, so be careful, it would be wise to make inquiries regarding this before you spend the money like I did!!

p.s.

went for another medical 3 weeks ago, waiting on word back.

catherine :)
