Update: pain all over

I saw a neurologist yesterday morning & her thoughts on my condition is not neuropathic pain, which I was diagnosed with by a rheumatologist, of all people. The Nero Dr is leaning more towards fibromyalgia!!! Do we keep adding to everything we have to deal with from day to day.?!?! Honestly not looking forward to adding to my already long list of medications, & Dr's as well. Oh well, I'll just go with it. I apparently need all these people to help with my condition. Thanks to all of the wonderful people on this site I have people to turn to who understands❣️

Hi Shulsey

Sorry to read your post, the battle is very lowering and if the doctors don't know then where can we go other than here, as you say, to all the wonderful people and their support and as ever your post has a positive turn to it. I hope something in that long list of meds will help.

best wishes

Thank you so much butterflyEi, we all have to try to stay positive to get through this. If not, we would all end up in the Looney Bin😋

I feel for you Shulsey. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia by my Rheumatologist as well. He prescribed me Cymbalta. I took a half pill and had to go to ER that night. I got all the side effects listed there. Horrible stuff. What kind of pain do you have? is it sharp pain or ache? Is it in the muscle or joints? Is it stiffness? Mine is mostly around the joints, in the tendon and muscle. My muscle gets knotty and need to be rolled out by massage therapist.

My naturalpath says Fibromyalgia has different kind of pain. They experience pain even just being lightly touched.

I am still seeking a root cause of my pain. Let me know if you have any luck.

Blessings to you,

Jane

Janelng, I cried the entire time the neurologist examined me. She stopped at one time & apologized but explained how she needed to examine me, she wasn't meaning to hurt. It was awful. My pain is muscle/joint pain. Being cold really hurts my skin, sounds crazy. The bottoms of my feet feel like they're always extremely bruised. I have stiffness with it mostly in the morning. Sometimes in the evening, depending on my activities during the day. I've been taking it easy for the past two days & started a med called Elavil 25mg once a couple hours before bed. It seems to be working, or Im just finally getting some sleep.

Thanks for sharing❣️

I am glad Elavil is helping you. I may want to try that.

Best wishes,

Jane
