Hello! My daughter is B12 deficient and is starting to get shots. She recently has experienced a couple of instances where she felt like she had low blood sugar and had to eat something right away. She became shaky and sweaty, but felt better after eating. She also sometimes has sleep paralysis when waking up from a nap. Just wondering if anybody else has experienced these while deficient.

I am not medically trained.
I wonder if your daughter suffers with hypoglycemia ? B12 plays an important part in keeping glucose levels within the correct margin. When I were younger I suffered with hypoglycemia and experienced similar symptoms. It might be worth googling the symptoms and the conections with B12.
Yes on loading doses.I think the b12 injections speeded up my metabolism.
I was constantly hungry .
I also lost alot of weight when b12 injections started.
It was temporary.
Eat little and often and avoid ' empty calories'
Have long acting carbohydrates like porridge. Banana. Dried fruit.
Pulses .
Yoghurt is a good fix for blood sugars falling .
Otherwise you get a seesaw effect and can feel lousy .
Hooe her deficiency symptoms improving
Yes I experienced this before injecting and it became more acute when injecting. The reason before injecting was B12 decency. The reason it became more acute after injecting was in part reversing out. Mostly it was that I was not injecting enough. I mg every other day was not enough. 1.5 every day was not enough.
In hind sight I looked for other causes for why I was not well and getting worse. It makes sense to try and find a solution. I wish I had dared to take more B12 and not experienced the angst and suffering from not injecting enough. I suffered for years because of not enough B12.
