Long-standing nerve damage

Is it too late after 10+ years to hope that I may reverse the nerve damage to my right foot by increasing my injections to alternate days? I first had symptoms approx 10 + years ago and was diagnosed and started treatment about 5 years ago.

Also I’ve read some posts previously that some people take folate with b12. Should I be doing this ?

Since you're 5 years into treatment I would assess whether you need to supplement folate based on folate blood tests. That said if you wanted to simply take 200mcg to 400mcg a day (typical multivitamin amounts), such a dosage is unlikely to cause harm but I would still let blood tests be a guide if you were considering taking more than 400mcg daily.

Cant really say for sure whether nerve damage thats present for 10 years can be reversed but neurological symptoms that were present for more than a year may improve but might not fully resolve. Many do still see improvements several years into treatment. There is no harm to inject EOD if needed and if it improves symptoms.

It took many years for my feet and hands to improve. I inject every 3 days, and I also have kept up rotating wrists and ankles, moving hands and feet forward and back, clenching and releasing toes and fingers etc and generally moving around if you are able on a regular basis. All of this to a level that suits you. Hope that helps and makes you smile.
