Thank you

Yes in range .

wouldn't do any harm ,in my opinion to have 200mcg that's in a multivit or 400mcg folic acid a few times a week.

and of course plenty of food sources.

I wouldn't want to go below that level .

I think top of the range is 26ug/l it should give you the number at top of 'in range .

my daughters level drops quickly and hef main sign she is low are mouth ulcers snd a metallic taste then extra fatigue

shd needs 400mcg daily to stay in range.

hope that helps

I didn’t realise that low folate caused a metallic taste, I’ve been getting that the past month. Following my symptoms return after a general anaesthetic. I’ve been taking b complex which contains folic acid though.

It's a sign my daughter has recognised.

I just had folate test done and they did not give a high range this is what my said. Mine is 13.29 and the >=5.38 is the range number

Folate 13.29 ng/mL >=5.38 ng/mL

It is confusing. And all the ranges are different per lab, per country. Technoid knows a lot about this. Maybe they can hep you understand better.

Oof. thanks for pinging but I don't have a lot to add, your folate looks fine ElleNore but for SMG1950 its low-normal and probably could benefit from reasonable supplementation in line with what Nackapan recommended. Sometimes the unit measurements are different, e.g. for ElleNore they are ng/ml, for SMG1950, they're ug/L. So you need to convert between in order to compare. But in THIS case the units are different but equivalent because "A lab value expressed in micrograms/liter (ug/L) is equivalent to the same value expressed in nanograms/milliliter (ng/mL)." This is because both the numerator and denominator (the units above and below the fraction) changed but in proportions that result in the same ultimate value. Confused yet LOL.

I am. Lolol. Sorry Technoid. I thought maybe you could explain why or what caused smg1950's folate to be so low.

Very hard to say without a lot of background but my general suspicion would tend towards possible absorption issue if there are good folates in the diet.

I didn't even realize the difference in our lab measurements Jeez🙄. So sorry to have confused things more.
