Hi all, I have recently been diagnosed with B12 and folic acid deficiency and have just had my loading dose of 6 injections, after the first 4 my skin has broken out terribly on my forehead and cheek, sore and painful spots, I have never had acne before in my life and worry if this is now going to be a common occurrence, will the spots disappear and get better soon? or is it going to be a likely occurrence every time with the injection?
its making me feel extremely low and I'm questioning whether the B12 shots are worth it?
thanks,
Anna

Hi Lion3 a wiser person than I has commented previously:
"The pimples/acne, is likely to be caused by microbes on your skin reacting to the additional B12 by producing substances that your skin is then reacting to. In theory this could be resolved by use of a good skin wash.
You might have better luck talking to your pharmacist and seeing what they can recommend prior to your next maintenance shot - though there is always a chance that it was something that won't recur".
I was exactly the same. They were big n so painfull. Its taken 6mnths to clear for me. I do notice that if i eat chocolate they appear. But trying to follow keto diet, i just weaken at times lol. I bought some HC cream to help with painfull ones. I feel for you x
