What medical diagnoses have you had? What were they based on? What treatment was given?

Was diagnosed for low b12 recently, just two months now. That i wasn't having enough b12 from the diet i eat and was given cyanocobalamin injections twice a week for a month but no improvements from the neurological symptoms in particular

Sorry to hear that you’re feeling so unwell. So that the knowledgeable members of this forum can offer you advice can you please give a bit of background.

For example, has your doctor diagnosed you with PA or B12 deficiency, what treatment have you been given to date and what country do you live in (as treatment protocols vary in different parts of the world).

If you had blood tests taken before a diagnosis and you have a copy of the results, what was your B12 and also folate level? It would be helpful if you could provide the range (usually shown in brackets after the result) too.

I live in cameroon and i must say this part of the world knows completely nothing on how to handle this kind of condition. Ive been experiencing these symptoms for good 16 months and i finally discovered what was the matter 2months ago when i was searching on Google and i then decided to go meet a doctor to do a blood test. He later on told me i was severely low in b12 and so, he wanted to give me some pills combined of folate, b12 and iron but i refused and opted he give me instea injections as i read online. He then gave me cyanocobalamin , injecting me 2 times a week for a month. I noticed some few significant changes because the chronic fatigue i had disappeared but the neurological symptoms still persist none stop.

Thanks much..!

It sounds like the injections have helped you so have you spoken to your doctor to see if they can be continued?

It would be worth asking if your folate has been tested and if not, have it tested. Meanwhile I would continue with your folate tablets and make sure your diet includes lots of folate rich food. Google gives plenty of advice but broadly green vegetables.
