Hi, as I had my injection I found I brought up yellow bile type sick?? Does anyone know if that's normal please... Thanks and sorry for being graphic... Jo x
Yellow acid sick: Hi, as I had my... - Pernicious Anaemi...
Yellow acid sick
I get violent gut transactions when I have migraines so do a lot of heave-ho ing.
Bile i think is generally a green colour - but depending on how much water there is it can be very pale and could possibly appear yellowy. Sure that levels of stomach acidity will probably have an effect as well so it may tend to be a paler colour if the acidity is low. My bile is certainly less acid than it used to be - it would burn the back of the throat in future years but doesn't do that now ... and the colour does tend to be a bit paler.
The biggest factor affecting the colour though tends to be what you have last eaten or drunk - unless it has been a significant amount of time - over 12 hours - since you had any food or drink.
When my gran was in her last years she had a carer - I would visit quite often and one day the carer was very concerned as my gran had thrown up and it was bright pink - managed to identify the cause - gran been stuffing herself with pink marshmallows!
Bile can vary quite a bit in colour. Normally it's greenish but can be a bright yellow.
On one of my trips to Kenya I suffered from very bad food poisoning. At one point I had to rush off the coach to be sick. My friend said that it was the colour of a Stabilo Boss highlighter.
However, it normally takes a severe reaction to vomit bile. It normally only happens when the stomach has been completely emptied.
I just started coughing (I'm convinced I have the remains of that cough that was going around after Xmas...) I have never smoked, so it's not that... I had just gotten up from a okish nights sleep.. I'd had the b12 jab for the 1st time the day before.. Just wondered if it was connected... Was fine after it had come up... It was highlighter yellow, wouldn't say green... Not been outside Essex so it won't be anything exotic:)))
I have come across some research that links B12 deficiency to chronic coughs.
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/212...
oh wow... I know somewhere someone said PA dried the lungs out.. I will have to read back over my posts... I was hoping it was b12 jab helping it clear out lol... Will look at this... It says on the ampoules may cause nausea.. I felt ok once I'd got it all out... Will see if it's a Patten... Thanks :))
When my stomach ulcer burst 57 years ago at nine o'clock in the morning and I spewed blood all over a newly decorated wall of a building I was working in I was asked by the medic who examined me whether I'd had beetroot for breakfast!! Well I was only 17 years old at the time so I guess a perforated peptic ulcer was way down on his checklist.
Goodness me... I heard how violent a burst ulcer is... My half a cup of yellow bile was nothing like that... I walked away from that and went about the day... Your situation must have been horrendous at that age and in terms of your condition.. I just wanted to know if it was linked to the b12 jab as I haven't had that issue for years.. Btw I had hiccups after jab haven't had them for years either, this was night before bike, evening of the jab.. I am trying to take stock via timeline logging, reading others issues, which is where the forum is gold, as I had dismissed or not realised so much... Which I feel both angry and distressed about... I hope you are feeling a lot better than you did when you were 17 x
22May many years ago I took care of a premature infant with a peptic ulcer.I can still remember the name.
Retren I didn't even know what a peptic ulcer was until after the surgery and I certainly didn't (and still don't) know what caused it. My girlfriend Merilyn at the time was student nurse and she asked her matron about the pains I was getting and she said it was probably just indigestion.
So sad about the premature infant.
Hi... bile is a yellow colour not really green. When and what did you last eat before you vomited? .... presumably your stomach was empty. Once you have vomited bile you will recognise the taste and the smell. Very nasty!!
See your GP if it becomes a regular occurrence.
I last had a strawberry yoghurt at teatime... I had had salad and jacket potato with some cheese.. About 5 PM and was sick around 7 AM.. I have documented how I feel after the jab and an ongoing diary... I feel fine now... Might have been one of those things... I can't recall last being sick... :/
md-health.com/Vomiting-Bile...
Mentions bile being green and or yellow
also mentions a number of things that can cause bile to be vomitted up.
Really don't think there is anything to worry about in relation to the colour at the moment.
Things to watch out for are:
a) vomitting blood as in clivealive 's post above
b) risk of dehydration if you are vomitting a lot - though sounds like it was just a single up. You may also be losing some minerals so may need to look at oral rehydration salts if you were to throw up several times.
Hope you haven't had a repeat.
