I have positive GCAs therefore presumably low gastric acid? Would it be helpful to take an acid substitute with meals eg cider vinegar.

Would vinegar assist with absorption of iron and other nutrients?

Hi megan,

Yes having a bit of lemon in water with foods will help or fresh orange juice will help digest if you have low stomach acid, iron may be best taken up with vit C so not particularly vinegar but fresh orange juice etc, also best to avoid tea and or coffee when taking iron supplements as these inhibit iron absorption.

This I found good to read see:

Kind regards,

marre.
