I would say you should go and present your case in detail to your G.P. and explain how you are feeling, along with the best details / records etc. you can. How your G.P. will view your problems is any ones guess, but he / she should be willing to listen to you and then make a diagnosis / prognosis accordingly. I'm afraid that devoid of your medical records and exact details of your case, that no one, even those of us always willing, can really second guess your G.P. decisions and it would be wrong of us to try I'm afraid.
