Hi everyone,
I was diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson’s in my mid-thirties. I’m 45 now. The first four years were hell — depression, weight gain (130 kg), no motivation, and increasing meds. I spent most days lying on the couch, doing nothing.
One day, I decided to fight back. Slowly, painfully, and imperfectly. I started walking. Then yoga. Then intermittent fasting. I introduced a simple eating window (8 a.m.–3 p.m.), stayed below 2,000 calories a day, and never gave up sweets — just moderated them.
I don’t recommend blindly copying my approach. Everyone is different. I’m just sharing what worked for me.
I’ve now lost 50 kg. I’ve stabilized my symptoms. I haven’t increased my levodopa dosage in years. Today, I live more actively than before my diagnosis. Here’s a short video of me jumping rope — something I never thought I’d be able to do again:

I wrote a book about this journey: not as a guide, not as medical advice — just one man’s brutally honest story of how he fought back. If you’re interested, it’s here:
If anyone here needs motivation, someone to talk to, or just a stranger who gets it — feel free to message me.
You are not alone.
