This cheap, $80, very low-tech gadget actually reduces my rigidities/stiffness throughout the day.

When I sit at my computer for more than an hour at a time, I am VERY stiff when I get up. When I first got it, I did not think it would do much good, but the more frequently I use it, the more good it does.

When I first got it, I raised up my computer station once in midmorning and once mid-afternoon. Now, I raise it once an hour for 10 minutes and I feel better throughout the day.

No claim here that there is scientific data re: health benefits. I just am less stiff on days when I stand up for 10 to 15 minutes every hour.

There are over a dozen manufacturers that vary in price.

I think posture and stretching is crucial. You are on to something. I think it is all very well eating supplements to break down waste in your brain but if your drainage system isn’t working where is it going to go? Posture is crucial as slouching rounds your shoulders, decreases lung capacity, and blocks up glymphatic drainage systems.I think that is also one of the reasons why qigong and yoga help. Keeps the body garbage system clearing out the junk!

Not just a claim -there is definitely scientific evidence that prolonged sitting and being sedentary is very harmful. Using a Standup desk is one of the ways to help around that if you can't simply get up and move around often.

I just did a 4 day online course which meant sitting at my laptop every Wednesday from 9.30 -5 with only 30 mins lunch - finished me off for days - so I can see how beneficial anything that changes your position would be - I'm going to work on that - thanks

Low tech and cheap.

Weighted vest, shoulder weights and wrist weights.

Balance and strengthening every time one moves.

Movement disorder correctors.

Maybe even mood improvements.

Seems to work for children.

I wanna feel young again.

I've been working from a home office for over 20 years now. One simple, zero-cost thing I did that made a huge difference was to remove the waste basket from my office. Every time I need to throw something out, I get up and walk into the kitchen and then back to my desk. This forces me to get up and move several times each day.

We thought our old neighbour strange. He would put his garbage and recycle boxes out at the end of his long driveway at the curb, two to three days before the designated pick up day. Then about 20 times a day carry out a piece of paper or a can to recycle. I wonder.
