Factors that contribute Thiamine dosing

Dr Costantini seems to take the following into consideration

•Severity as determined by the Pull test and current medication

•Body weight

• Age

From my experience, severity, weight and age, I can add that within Dr C’s recommended daily dose:-

•Time of dose. A small dose (500 milligrams) around 18.00 hours helps in the evening

•Size of each dose 1000 mg at a time is maximum after the initial period

•Closeness to meals don’t leave too long a gap before food

•Try to ensure that each meal has a small amount of protein and sufficient carbohydrates. Thiamine needs carbs to work on

•Exercise uses the Thiamine faster

•High environmental heat sweats out the Thiamine

•Green tea calms an excess gently

•On glass of Red wine modifies the tremor temporarily

Thank you for the info. I do not know why dr. Constantini wants us to avoid citrus juice or fruits with Thiamine.

He never said it to me, but I do the injections of thiamine hcl 100mg twice a week, after three years I wanted to change into pills because I got tired, but maybe it's better not. I like oranges ah :-)

He mentioned that to me and I think the reason is because certain citrus juices can affect the way supplements and meds are absorbed. I was under the impression that he just didn't want me to use it at the same time as the thiamine or to mix your thiamine powder in if you are using the pure powder form. At the time , I was asking him about the use of Gatorade to mix the thiamine powder in and he told me it was fine, but not to use citrus juices for that purpose. Here is an article that discusses this about grapefruit juice:

I think it is working now. The article is entitled "Grapefruit Juice and Some Drugs Don't Mix".

I don't understand the maximum 1,000 mg B1 at a time after the initial period. I believe many of us are still on 3 or 4 grams months after we started. Are we suppose to greatly reduce ? I'm on 3 gm. Once a week I abstain.

in reply to KERRINGTON

This was my experience. 1500 milligrams in one go was too much I was still taking 3 grams per day in three doses. This was not a recommendation for others

No, but now you got me thinking ! I wonder if 2 single large doses zap whatever is suppose to be zapped with a punch, or would smaller, but spaced doses equalling the same total have a different effect ?
