Afraid of pressure sores. Cannot move due to rods and screws in my back. Lost all my muscles. Please advise.

Hello I have lost all my muscles due to not moving and severe surreal pain. My thigh bones are cutting through my flesh, as well as my sit bones and sacral bones. I am mostly bed ridden. What is the best mattress to lie and sleep on for this detrimental problem please? Thank you so much.

Hi, I am so very sorry. I think I would look into a natural latex mattress and pillows. You can look for a company online and maybe call them and talk to them and explain your problem and see what they say. They have different firmness so that's why you might want to talk to somebody . Mary

We find our Tempur mattress very comfortable but it doesn't make turning over very easy.

I'm sorry. You sounds so uncomfortable. I think you need to get some medical help straight away.

My mum is bedridden and she has a pad on top of her mattress that is plugged in and moves around - kind of undulates. It is to stop bed sores and might be helpful for you.

I hope you get some relief soon.

I think this is referencing an alternating pressure mattress or overlays that go on top of an existing mattress. They are basically like a thick, pocket air mattress with a pump that quietly inflates and then deflates sections. This relieves pressure on the skin and are recommended for stage 4 bed sores (which it sounds like you have).

Yes I know those it hurts me. Are there other overlays that do not work with a pump please?

Sheep skin throw/blanket is best and it is natural... also deer hide that is naturally tanned will be helpful to stop bed sores. With bones rubbing I would think a thick woolly sheep blanket would be best first. Hoping this gets better soon !
