The results from the poll show that it is most common for a diagnosis of Parkinson’s to take either 6 months (31% of votes) or 2 years (30% of votes). The remaining 40% of the votes were relatively evenly spread between the remaining categories; 6 months to 1 year, 1 year to 18 months and 18 months to 2 years.
From the comments on the poll it is evident that a few people received a diagnosis in less than 6 month but many more received diagnosis well after 2 years of exhibiting symptoms. It was commonly reported that doctors made them feel as though their symptoms were unimportant.
