but i do have to stop and beath in my noes and out the mouth to regain myself but i do not get chest pains my doc is sending me for a sleep study and other breathing test and a stress test - already had a xray and catscan of my lungs and they are clear -- i live on the 2nd floor of a duplex -- if i bring food or other bags in from the car i have to go up 4 steps to a landing then 3 steps to the entry way then a full flight of stepts to the apt. then i drop the bags and start my breathing in the nose out the mouth till it returns to normal -- can anyone tell me if they have the same problem?

Yes i have shrieke. I had a feeling like i couldnt expand my lungs enough to breathe deeply. I got it from minor exercise. still get short of breath but much improved. i have a few theories. What meds are you on?

Shrekie, i was on a toteradine an antcholenergic (as is trihexyphenidyl) and i believe my breathing problems were mostly but not only due to this drug. They did not appear immediately but built up over time. I weaned off it and stopped it a week ago and i am much improved. ( It is dangerous to stop suddenly). That is not to see your problems are due to this but meds are worth investigating.

Yes, it is a big problem for me. I am not ruling out the meds.

And don't forget that fatigue is a normal and very common PD symptom.

I’ve had PD since 2004, was finally Dx in 2006, and my first experience with SoB (Shortness of Breath) was two years ago at age 76. Knowing that some PD meds can cause SoB, I started with my neuro. He opined that it was not a PD Med problem and sent me to a pulmonologist who opined that it was not a lung problem and send me to a cardiologist who opined that it was not a heart problem, and the three of them left me hanging. I fired the three of them and started over this year with a new neuro who sent me to a new pulmonologist who seems to know what he is doing. He opines it is a heart problem, thinks I might need a pacemaker and has set me up to see a cardio next week – stay tuned …

I have had breathing problems since shortly after dx (13 yrs.). Just finished a battery of tests including sleep study for apnea, ekg, echocardiogram, pft ( pulmonary function test) stress test, chest xray, MRI, and full panel blood workup. The conclusion....I have a bad back and pd. and most likely it is an effect caused by pd. I also have sleep apnea.Good luck...".Daddy"
