I have some severe issues - pancreatitis, splenic thrombosis, pancreas-colonic fistula.

I have Pancreatitis with pseudocyst and necrosis in tail, chronic splenic thrombosis with varicosities, and pancreatic-colonic fistula.

I'm sure it started with excessive alcohol, which I stopped completely 7 months ago. Many doctor visits and CT scans later I have the conditions listed above.

I am not (in my opinion) getting good information from my doctors on what is going on. I'm mainly using Chat GPT and Google to find out what is happening based on reading the CT scan results. My Gastroenterologist referred me to a specialist surgeon which I see for the first time in a month.

I have been given little info on diet, or what I should be doing until I see the surgeon. I have extreme fatigue, very little appetite (hardly eat anything), some pain but not much. I am having bowl movements like I am eating a horse every day. Bowel movements are soft, sometimes runny but not always. I can't believe there is much to eliminate from my body.

I'm calling the doctors and they are telling me to wait to talk to the surgeon specialist. I just want to know - I'm sure it's not good - what is happening. I can handle it. Or what I should be doing between now and the specialist doctor visit, which isn't for a month. Thanks for any information you can provide.

I just had a bout of acute pancreatitis. There’s lots of information about what to eat on the web but not enough too. Bland plain diet. Crackers, veggies, fruit. Teas for the condition help too. Western medicine doesn’t look at your diet or other factors. Your mental state, stress and such. I know a couple people with pancreatic bouts and they eat healthy and don’t drink; so there are a number of factors I have found to cause it. For me it may have been what I most recently ate and other lesser known body responses. A new medication I was reluctant to take. I now also go to a Holistic Doctor. Typically not covered by insurance which isn’t good but they can also use other ways to test you while body and related organs. So I do both…western and eastern medicine. Western just wants to do surgery in my case. Maybe not necessary to take out my gallbladder but if time reveals so, I will. Meanwhile I’m doing other treatments (Holistic) to remedy the inflamed pancreas. For now, I would watch what you eat for sure. Try another type of doctor too. Get more input than just one way western doctors seem to be. I had the surgeon tell me that supplements are a billion dollar business that just takes your money. Yet, my magnesium, Vit B levels are normal and I take those supplements. Most people take Vit C and it can’t be because none of it works.

I also ask my body if it’s good for me doing a simple kinesiology test. You’ll have to google that. A naturalist doc I went to used that test.
