Hi I am Dawn. Does anyone have a Spinal Cord Simulator?

Spinal Cord Simulator
Hi Dawn, I had a spinal cord stimulator, worked wonderfully for me but sadly it needed to be removed as it failed and I needed an urgent MRI. I have been told that I cannot have a replacement with wires due to scar tissue therefore I’ve been transferred to another hospital where they fit paddles in the hope that they will approve me for another. If you have any questions, feel free to ask x
Hi.
I am in a similar situation as you my simulator has definitely stopped working as I have no pain coverage and my machine has worked well over the last 5 years. I went on a hour car journey that is all I did! I am interested how your pain came on. I am having bladder problems too which started the same time.
Take care xx
So sorry to hear you’re in the same boat. I don’t remember doing anything in particular to trigger my SCS failure. Have your pain management team replaced your leads? They tried that first for me.
You take care too xx
Hi. Well I saw my pain doc today (not his official title!!). And because i can’t have a mri I am having another scan when they put a needle into your back and inject dye, if that doesn’t show anything I can have my device taken out and given an mri then put my device back in. Of course this all takes time a lot of time so i am pumped with a load of morphine while I wait. I hate my pain I am also having bladder problems. It never feels empty so I have the constant feeling of wanting to pee. I did a bit of research and that is a side effect of the scs. Goodness that was a lot of moaning! Sorry it’s just so frustrating and time consuming it gets to you. Hope you are well 😀
So sorry I missed your post, I’ve been on holiday with the grandchildren so been rather behind with my emails….how did the dye scan go? Did you have to have the device removed? I hope not x
