Hi again dottilind, you're still suffering I see.you gotta eat plenty of fibre, keep up with the soups/liquids and sometimes when I'm blocked up,I drink a bit of fizzy drinks and move about as much as you possibly can.you said you were taking 8 laxidos a day.which I still think is extreme.I reckon you will be getting severe stomach cramps. You sound like you're doing lots but you've gotta keep on at your GPS,chemists,walk-in centres,NHS website. But mainly you have to keep on at your GP cos they have to find a way to break down your constipation.Keep pestering them cos there has to be something to undo the blockages in your body.Keep in touch and hope you find what's wrong.Gd luck ok.

Thank you for the info. As I am on Zomorph and Dr weaning me off that is what is causing constipation. Just got another week to go on these and then hopefully all back to normal. I take complan twice a day and yesterday I had jacket pot.but no appetite. Still must persevere. Thanks again.

Hi Jjflash. My gastro dr told me to use milk of magnesia. A teaspoon every night to keep things moving. You must empty your bowels regularly or you get sick from the toxins . Especially if you have an autoimmune disease.

Did the milk of magnesia work?

Hi there. I am taking it but it states not to use more than three days.

If there's no food going in, there's nothing to come out. I think you need to try eating a normal diet. Your body will get used to it and your appetite should return, I hope!

Hi wish I could eat normal diet but cannot face it. I take complan and cuppa soup. I have a good bout of overflow every day but feel so weak it seems I have no stomach muscles. Thanks again for input.

Sorry if this is a bit personal but have you had an enema? Even the ones you do at home like Microlax?

Hi Molly no the Dr said if it was blockage it was too far up to do any good. As Zomorph for pain is being reduced I find I am passing more and more soft stool like water but colour getting darker.

Oh you poor thing, that is just awful. I had impacted constipation once but thankfully a few enemas did the trick. Wishing you all the best x

You also really should use a good probiotic and Candida cleanse. You will feel much better

Dear Dottilind ,

Thank you for your post and I'm very sorry to hear about your digestive issues. You say you have not had a meal for 5 weeks and you mention only having soup in the comments.

Can I ask if your GP knows about you not being able to eat, and if so, what have they suggested?

I understand that your digestive problems are more complex, but not taking in nutritious food for weeks is worrying and can have very serious consequences on your overarching health.

I'm sure you are aware of all of this and that is why you wrote here. But at the end of the day, your medical professionals are definitely the best qualified to help you and offer the healthiest solution, so please don't hesitate to reach out to them if you are still struggling to take in food.

To help you with preparing for your doctors visit - even if it's just on the phone, we have a great leaflet containing tips to make sure you cover all the talking points important to you. You can find it on the Pain Concern website or here: painconcern.org.uk/managing...

Hope you will feel better very soon.

Wishing you the best and please take care,
