Urinary incontinence

This is a little embarrassing but here goes. I frequently have problems with urinary incontinence. Not always and not large amounts. I am a senior but very active and alert. I use pads and sometimes I just make it to the bathroom and lose some. no wetting the bed, etc. The problem is I have a torn rotator cuff and neuroppathicpain so while proper hygeine is possible it is difficult. and I worry about odor.. I bought a hand held bidet which I use with water, However, I wonder if there is something I can dissolve in the water a that is safe which will act as a deodorant. There I actually verbalized it. Any suggestions?

What about Bicarbonate of soda, dissolve a small amount in warm water. Or use dissolvable toilet tissue wipes they come fragrance free or with fragrance. X

Thank you,Gigi. I shall research that and try it. Seems like such a small problem when I read the posts and perhaps it is, but sharing helps. This site has been a help to me with pain issues and a surgery. I pray for you all every day. G-d bless.

I use a couple of drops of lavender oil (no more) for just about everything. It's disinfectant and smells great.

Hi.. There's some very good replies to your question, so can't think of anything else to add to that. Just wanted to check whether you've discussed the urinary problem with your GP?

I'm sure you already know this but certain drinks and medication can irritate the bladder... which means a rush to the toilet... acidic foods, caffeine, tannins, even green tea etc. As you're not bed wetting, just wondering if that might be the problem, rather than a anything else. .. unless ofcourse you know what the problem is and can't change it.

Hope it's useful to you anyway.

It happens my pelvic floor is weak right now so I get this sometimes. Too many surgeries in around that area. I carry pads in my purse I use cool wipes found in feminine hygiene areas on my bad days and essential oil spray I carry in my purse. You can even find the essential oil roll ons people use on their wrists and stuff for headaches and other things. Good luck with your recovery !!
