Seeing a pain specialist was the best thing for me. Revised my pain meds (so I had regular meds plus breakthrough meds when needed) and gave injections into the worst areas. The other thing that really helps is stretches that open out your spine and therefore stop bone pinching nerves. Google exercises for spinal stenosis as they are the kind of stretches that seem to work, or ask to see a physio.

I have lower back pain it travel's down the right leg in to the knee. I see a Dr at the pain clinic and Friday I went in to hospital for radio frequency { where they zap the nerve } I also have spine block where they inject steroid in to the effected area ask your Dr to refer you to your local hospital

The pain in my lower back and foot is because of a slipped disc op that didn't work,I attend the pain clinic, they've said I could try a nerve block, did it work for you?

I have had spine blocks for some years now they have all worked although I should get 3 months pain relief I get around 6 weeks. They are done in theatre under a live x-ray on day surgery you can't drive after having the procedure for 24 hours but well worth it. I have also tried acupuncture in between spine blocks

I spent a year on strong painkillers attending a pain clinic before I agreed with my specialist that an operation on two prolapsed discs was the only way. I had keyhole surgery and left hospital a day later. It was like being given a second life. That was twenty years ago and I have had nothing but the odd twinge, probably like we all do from long car journeys etc. I never lift anything heavy and always bend with my knees, never my back which is second nature.

Good luck with your back. Something is trapping your nerve, get that sorted the rest is just temporary pain relief.

I have degenerate lumbar scoliosis with stenosis and a trapped nerve root which gave grotesque pain. The medics won't do anything about it because of my age and multi health problems. However, in 2011 after discussion with my GP, he prescribed the maximum dose of Lyrica and Duloxetine.

As long as I'm sitting or lying down I'm comfortable but I can't stand for more than 2 minutes without intense pain - so I live for most of the time on my bottom.
