How do they diagnos fibro,I'm waiting to go to Liver Pool Royal Hospital to see fibro drs was just wondering how they do it .

I have had fibro now since 20009 I have permanent nerve damage in my lower back. I was at the pain clinic the doctor was trying to see why I was suffering with pain and came to the conclusion that I was suffering with fibro your doctor would be able to tell you if you have symptom such as headache sore throat pressure points in your body are all connected every one is different but people with fibro have nearly all the same symptoms tired all the time you can have not so bad days and really bad days each time you go to your doctor it will all add up in the end if you have it takes a while because they are not sure at first what it is I am surprised that you are going to see a fibro doctor at the hospital i did not know that they have fibro doctors are you sure you are not going to the pain clinic in the hospital they do all sorts of things to help with your pain it is worth going to hope this helps best of luck

Thanks for your reply shasbat my dr just said I think you might have fibro I'm going to send you to the fibro clinic in liverpool royal has they have a clinic for it there so I don't no what it is until I go I'm waiting for the appointment to come an I'll let you no what it says .

Hi blacky000.. I went to carlise with..feeling sxxxx.and fever.and joint pain..for. wellhad yyears.. a rumotoligist.. saw me..they press on points ..and test for pain???? He said I never had..so what have I?? Bloods OK..but back pain knew what's wrong their,.oh have a so shape spine now to top off..no one in the hens seems to knew...hope you've more look their..let me knew I will travel..had to go 2 half hour to Newcastle xxx

Blacky000.. if any joy please let me knew..I could fall asleep..feel badly all time..just turned down my 2 and back op...physio told me yesterday one hips up one down..been telling them that for years....muppets.... I am now in soooo much pain he put my hip back in place..and sore..oh have arthritas.. so don't knew what crack is really....if you find out their good ..brilll???

They should only diagnose fibro if they have ruled out other causes of your pain. That may mean checking for mechanical problems (like disc or bone or tendon problems), or possibly for things like inflammatory arthritis, etc. Ask them what else they have ruled out, and what else it could be besides fibro. Ask if you need to have xrays or MRI if you have bone or tendon problems to rule those out.

There do seem to be an awful lot of women particularly who end up with a fibro diagnosis, and then later find out that it was actually an inflammatory arthritis like spondyloarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis.

Hi earthwitch,I've had an MRI and I've got stenosis of the spine, I've also got cervical spondylosis,and osteo arthritis in my hands ,Knees,arms,neck ,you name it I've got it ,I've got cronic back pain all the time and I'm always tired an could fall asleep on a clothes line ,I am still working but I don't think I can do much longer it's killing me ,I don't no what to do for the best ,thanks everyone for your replys .
