I have had tennis elbow swimmers shoulders. They never heal properly. Wen i roll my shoulders i hear a crunching sound in my back.

might be worth asking for a referral to a rheumatologist to rule out some kind of inflammatory joint condition or connective tissue disorder.

Have you ever had steroid injections into the areas? If so, then that could be the cause - its now known that although steroid injections into tendons make them feel better initially, the steroid can make the tendon far more prone to rupture and then not heal well. For that reason, specialists aren't recommending them any more, though I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of GPs are still doing them. Steroid injections right inside the joint are OK, I think, just not into the tendon, though there are other types of injection they can do into tendons

Yes i have had many injections over the years in elbows and shoulders. Needed surgery on elbow many years ago. I am going back to gp and asking for ultra sound treatment to break up the scaring. Ive also just purchased a shoulder support. If i wear all my supports i look like an american footballer but they help. At 55 i was hoping to be a bit more healthier but my sporting years r catching up. Thanks again

Hello

Make an telephone call to your GP to see what needs to be done. If the joints is not in the right position and feels like something is moving or making a noise it may be a good idea to pop into A and E for an Xray, it will confirm everything is ok.

If the GP knows about your problems fair enough although it sounds more than Tennis Elbow,

Remember I am not a Doctor so confirm what is going on in this shoulder

GOOD LUCK

BOB

I have a dodgy shoulder and crunch a lot when I roll my shoulders or even just move the dodgy one on its own. The muscles are extremely knotty and make popping noises if I have them massaged. It sounds and feels like this noise is coming from my upper back.

Probably a good idea to get your crunching checked out. Physio has helped smooth it out.

Thanks for this. I am going to get a shoulder support plus an ultasound machine for shoulders and elbows. If no improvement will head off to docs
