Can anyone let me know what side effects they have experienced while taken Avastin? Anything similar to chemo? Thank you ladies.

Sorry that you haven't had any replies.

If you are contemplating having or requesting Avastin then the best thing to do is probably speak to your Oncologist or Specialist Nurse. The list of side effects of all of tehse drugs reads ;ike "war and Peace" but only a specialist who ( hopefully) knows you and has access to your history will really be able to tell you which side effects you may suffer.

I am taking Avastin, but I am also taking carbo and taxol so it is very difficult to tell which drugs give which side effects. I have to say that this regime of chemotherapy is not too bad, I am usually tired 3-6 days after chemo and my nose bleeds a little but apart from that I am able to live "normally

I had Avastin throughout my chemo cycle alongside carboplatin and taxol then continued with Avastin on its own for 3 months. The only noticeable side effect was bleeding of the gums and nose.

Im on avastin for past 13 months and no major side effects. blood pressure is good also kidney function. only i have odd bleeding nose but doesnt happen very often. hope its help x

Hi Babs, we spoke earlier, you were with the same consultant and surgeon as me at Maidstone. I've just started Avastin every 3 weeks till Nov 13. Its great to read you are doing so well.

I had two infusions of avastin, 3 weeks apart. Then started daily nosebleeds when I blow my nose and occasional blood in the toilet bowl after I pee. My doc and I agreed to discontinue the avastin.

Does anyone know how long it takes for bleeding to stop after discontinuing avastin?

We've been trying to get my red blood cells up to normal levels and the avastin bleeding isn't helping.
