What a lovely story. Have just looked at the reviews for War Horse and it looks stunning. I'm really pleased you had this to look forward to throughout your chemotherapy - and then of all things the Shingles.
Hi Janet! So glad you enjoyed it, what a wonderful present. Christmas is worth waiting for .......
Enjoy a restful day today with lovely memories. By the way, my friend loved the show so much, she has been 3 times. I'll wait for the film I think, as I may not get to London to see the play.
Fancy a punt on the river in Cambridge with the family ..plus the champange and strawberries ..we did it last when My daughter got her history degree ..but that was a while ago now ..Have to wait for a dry day ... it has not stopped raining in Norwich since they delcared a hosepipe ban ...
Love Janet xxx
Lovely, Jan!!
Isn't it miraculous how a hose-pipe ban gets the clouds going (nearly as effective as me singing)!
Isn't War Horse brilliant? My husband took me for our anniversary last September and it took our breath away! In some ways it is more of a happening rather than a play.
I didn't go to the film when they released it as I think it would have spoiled the memory. Joey really was 'real' on stage, wasn't he?
Glad you are feeling a bit better. Shingles can be very nasty.
I am soooo jealous. I have been trying to go and see the show since January but due to chemo, work and children I haven't been able to sort anything out.
I went to London with some friends last month but couldn't get tickets as it was sold out. I will just have to keep trying but I did get to see the film and loved it.
I'm off to Edinburgh next week as my end of chemo treat. We are flying there and my boys are so excited as they have never flown before and my eldest keeps saying he has never been to a different country before. We are only going for four days but I have got so much planned.
Hope the weather improves soon for your Cambridge trip.
I actually read the book while having a lengthy chemo session.
It was really good even though it was written for children but then I like Harry potter as well. We are off to see the Harry potter experience in July. I'm really excited about that and if the children knew they were going they would be as well. I love surprising them.
I will post about my trip when I get back.
Love jackie
Hi Jan
I am so envious (not really, I'm pleased for you). This is a show I've always wanted to see. Up until a few months ago I wouldn't organise anything too far in the future...........silly huh? But i'm gradually getting over that. Maybe I'll try to get tickets.
