Is it possible to pay for Avastin privately? If so - how much roughly would it be and how easy is it to do?

Well, it's for sale on the web (eg. drugstore.com/avastin/4ml-v...; and looking at the cancer forums others have done it. Seems you'd need to find an oncologist prepared to do it that way, but why not?

very best wishes,

Isadora.

I asked my onc if I could pay for avast in he said it would cost me about 21,000 a year but wasn't sure also said I would have to pay privately for the administration as well and didn't know how many years I would need to have it. I found him very unhelpful and not very interested. Hope you have more success good luckxxxxx

I asked my oncologist about this the other day, thinking about possible treatment after this lot of chemo. She said that they need to apply for funding, so I asked what it would cost privately and she said about £25,000 for 12 months supply. That certainly wouldn't be within my reach. Hope you can get funding.

All the best George x

Thank you for the replies. We've got an appointment on Thursday with the oncologist so I will ask them then. It's so frustrating that there are these drugs available and we can't get access to them - it's just not right.
