Hi Dee - yes I've had a lot of pain from scar tissue around all the areas where I had adhesions (cancerous tissue) - also 18 months post surgery now (stage 3c). I get a lot of abdominal pain, which is really worrying as I always think it is something worse!! I have to watch my diet and I take Movicol to keep bowels working smoothly so the scar tissue doesn't flare up. But my onc reassured me that this was usual and just something else I'll have to put up with! Really frustrating as I continue to have a lot of aches and pains. Am due for a CT scan tomorrow (18th) and hoping for a good result. So, although pain from adhesions is 'normal', any 'new' or constant aches or pains should really be investigated. Have a word with your onc nurses if you are at all concerned. Hope this helps. xxxxxxx Colette

Hi Dee I am 9 months post surgery and have pains but find yoga type movements and breathing help to settle things on the diaphragm and stomach. It also takes a couple of years for the body to mend from the type of surgery we have had. best wishes

Hi, I also suffer discomfort and pain from adhesions following the surgery I had three years ago for relapsed ovarian cancer. I had a tumour removed from between my liver and kidney and ever since have had discomfort on my right side. It would seem that bits of one's inside can sometimes stick together during the healing process. My oncologist does not seem too concerned about it, but I agree, any pain can be very worrying and I remind my oncologist about mine at every check up! With best wishes.

Hi Dee

Can I ask if you are suffering from bloating as well? I'm only 3 months post-op for what turned out to be a Stage 1 Adult Granulosa Cell tumour and am really bloated at the end of each day[ look about 6 months gone!] but my nurse is convinced it is probably adhesions- I have had a clear CT.

Just wondered if this bloating was part of your problem too.

Perhaps the yoga idea is a good one- I don't think a full workout is possible.

Hope something can be done for you

Regards

Anne

I had some pains in my left side 15 months after surgery and was worried about a recurrence. I had a ct scan and it was clear but I started to take serrapeptase which is a supplement from the silkworm which dissolves dead tissue in the body. After a few weeks the pain in my side disappeared and has not returned 2 years later. I had low grade 3c ovarian.
