Hi, diagnosed 6 years ago with stage 4, had treatment, recurrence 3 1/2 years ago, on olaparib since end of that round of treatment. Bloods every 2 months and ca125 always 5 or 6, in January it was 6 but March up to 11, worried so had it checked this week and now 15. I know still v low and within the limits but as an upward trend I’m now really worried.
I did have a virus 5 weeks ago, has anyone had any experience where their ca125 has risen post virus but when scanned etc were disease free?
Hi👋 I get you 100% . I had that virus flu/cough and then I had a uti straight after, my ca went up 7 to 10 but I didn't know as I only have 8 weekly over the phone with pharmacy, I asked her to give me the last 2 months. Anyway it's back down to 8 now, she also said some labs get very slightly different number's. I hope this helps you X
yes, I have had that happen. I think it was after having COVID. But keep getting bloodwork as often as you can.
Mine went 7, 9, 11 over 3 month intervals. I was so anxious but the last one a couple of weeks ago was 8. What a relief! Even though I knew these were really small rises I couldn't seem to stop the worry.I tried to tell myself that even if it was recurrence there was no point being miserable and spoiling what was otherwise pretty good health and time that I could enjoy living well.
Hard isn't it.
