I am 4b. Got refused by most of the usual companies mentioned. Finally, Saga agreed for a huge price. Someone told me recently that if u go on a Saga cruise insurance is thrown in. ??? I remember a news story about someone who did not tell travel insurance she had hay fever and as a result they refused when she claimed for another condition. I therefore confess every itsy bitsy detail of all I have ever had. . .

I believe Staysure are very good, l.have Nationwide flexi account which covers my husband and l but we've had it since l was dignosed with Brain tumour & last 5 years Ovarian cancer we pay Ā£13 pounds a month then a supplement for me. But it's also gives us breakdown cover with car etc. Good luckSheilaFx

I used Allclear last year and they were fairly reasonable.

I went with Insure With but tried to get a quote this year but very expensive. They said the underwriters have changed.Managed to get a cruise insurance with All Clear which I have used in the past.

I remain concerned if you don't get everything covered. My oncologist said to make sure you get full cover with your cancer as one of her patients needed to be hospitalised in the States and had to sell her house to pay for it.

i used Puffin insurance for a one week cruise recently. It was the cheapest by far of the quotes I got and covered the cancer issue. In retrospect, I really dont think getting this insurance was crucial for this type of holiday. However if I was going to stay abroad for a period of time, then yes, absolutely. Good luck with it.

Hi. Insurewith are excellent. After chemo I could not get anything under Ā£1000 but insurewith did a yearly policy for about Ā£150 and so far Iā€™ve been away twice since September with it. They were also very helpful on the phone. Good luck

Hello Cardiff05,

Thank you very much for your message. I can see that you have already had a number of responses from the My Ovacome community which I hope have been helpful.

I just wanted to send a quick message to let you know that Ovacome has an information booklet about travelling abroad which includes a section about travel insurance. I will put a link to this here if you would like to take a look: ovacome.org.uk/travelling-a.... Please do let me know if you would like me to send you a copy through the post. We are unable to recommend a particular company or policy, but this booklet does list a number of companies that members have found helpful in the past. It also includes links to sources of further information about travelling abroad.

It is important to have travel insurance that can cover medical care that someone may need if they develop health problems related to ovarian cancer while they are abroad. In our Summer 2022 Ovacome magazine on page 10, there is an article on travelling abroad which also includes some information about travel insurance. I will put a link to this here: ovacome.org.uk/Handlers/Dow...

Please donā€™t hesitate to get in touch if we can help with any further information about this. The Ovacome support service is available Monday ā€“ Friday 10am ā€“ 5pm and you can contact us by calling 0800 008 7054, by emailing support@ovacome.org.uk, by sending us a message through this forum or by sending us an instant message through the pink ā€˜Can we help youā€™ box on our website ovacome.org.uk.

Best wishes,

Cathryn
