Hi. I don’t recall being given much information on my BRCA test other than I was negative. As I keep seeing posts about genetic mutation, negative BRCA but positive tumour tests e.g. I wonder if anyone has been retested since initial diagnosis and been given contradictory info? Has that meant a change to planned treatment? It’s a fast developing branch of medicine so no doubt research has found that it is highlighting new findings which could have important effects for those diagnosed with OC and other cancers. I hope so! Hope you are keeping well.

Cheryl

Thank you so very much for this valuable information. I am BRCA2 positive and currently on 4th line chemotherapy which is weekly for 18 weeks. I know to live I have to have the chemotherapy a d I would rather that than not be here with my wonderful husband and my families but it would be so amazing to find something that works and gives us ladies back our lives. I wonder how to find out about any trials for this. Thank you again, I shall save the information and speak to my consultant he may know. Have a lovely day. X

No lack of volunteers for trials I suspect . Thank you so much for that . Having donated the BRCA gene to my children , this has really pepped me up !! Jennifer

Yes I have two daughters so hope and pray that there are always new treatments and trials out there. As my eldest daughter (17) said, forewarned is forearmed so in a bizarre way its a bit of a positive xx

Great that there is a good possibility of another treatment option. Suzanne and I are sorry to hear that olaparib may not be working for you and really hope that, if you might benefit, you will get on this new trial for the POLQ inhibitor mentioned in your article xx
