Dear everybody
Does anyone have any recommendations for joint stiffness/pain after exercise, even walking a few miles seems to bring it on.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Hi 🙂
Are you able to take glucosamine?
Or did you mean pain relief?
What about gentle yoga?
Any tips will be helpful , I try to avoid painkillers. Have you used glucosamine???
Yes I take it most days when I remember! I’m on HRT (peri menopause) so I take glucosamine with Vit C, Red Clover, Ginkgo Biloba with Siberian Ginseng (all vegan suitable).
I also practice daily yoga which I swear helps everything! 🧘🏻♀️
Thank you for that which is most useful info . May be great idea to pursue the yoga during the winter months!
And I shall get some glucosamine , I used to do that some years ago when I was on HRT . Can’t hurt for sure .
Hope all well with you

Hi. I take you are still on Olaparib? I started it in mid April after chemo for first recurrence. I was focused on increasing my walking mileage trying to do four miles a day in May and June. I was having terrible aches and pains, really miserable. I decided to back off a bit and some days do two miles and others longer. Anyway I just noticed recently that the pain is better. I walked six miles on Saturday and didn’t suffer for it. I still have aching hips and hands and feet from neuropathy but it’s not making me miserable like it was. So I’m hoping that like the nausea it’s tapering off.
Thankyou, that is very helpful. Yes still going with Olaparib. My hips most affected , plus one knee . And then just generalised stiffness after , but does go after good sleep . Maybe some of it is a hangover from chemo, I hadn’t thought about that ? I’ve done a lot this week, so may be good plan to stagger it a bit
Thank you for your thoughts.
Hope you keep feeling better and that the Olaparib works it’s magic for you
Hi Jennifer,
I'd recovered from chemo well, and started on Niraparib, plus been walking many miles most days because I like being out and about, with no aches or pains in the legs, but in the last few weeks I have been a lot more housebound while I deal with a family issue, and I've found that I have had increasingly achy, uncomfortable legs. But I had some trusty glucoamine in the cupboard, and after three days of taking it, all gone...
I hope it works for you too!
Carol
Hi Jennifer,
I ve been on Olaparib with Cediranib for nearly 10 months and have had aches and pains since the start. I find yoga helps and Reiki treatment with reflexology. I know that some may be a bit sceptical about it but it certainly works for me. I'm lucky to have found an excellent practitioner.
It could work for you.
Nicola
I think maybe I’m getting more problems now as I’m doing a lot more . I think you are a month ahead of me on the Olaparib. I’ve had reflexology before but not Reiki?? So can investigate. The yoga sounds as though it helps a lot of people , I’ve thought of it before but always thought I’m a bit clumsy for it !!!!
Thank you for thoughts , most appreciated

Hi Jennifer, I would recommend Turmeric, it's an anti-inflammatory supplement but don't take it if you are having chemo. Plus glucosamine and MSM compliment each other, I also take Omega 3 for a bit of lubrication as well as Evening Primrose. I think I'm older than you but really enjoy walking and I exercise every day. All the best Sue xx
I am quite old ! Before all this felt I was doing quite well , now some days I feel 100😳. But seriously thank you for help. I’ve been out and bought glucosamine with omega 3 today , and vit c. So I can start and see if helps . Soon be bouncing .
Best wishes and thanks
Jennifer
