I didn't, but any changes you should always bring up to your chemo nurse

Hi. I know I got pimpels on my face during chemo, it went away and then came back after each treatment, but I don’t remember if I got them on other parts of the body as well. I hope your chemo nurse can help!

Which chemo are you on? I ended up with tiny little lumps (pimples?) all across my back and abdomen, they did scab up and drop off eventually, one day they were just gone after I showered. It was an annoyance rather than scary, I wasn't in the frame of mind to worry about it, I just wanted to get through the chemo (carbo/caelyx).

A few days after my first chemo, I began breaking out in hives on arms, back and torso. Awful. I waited until second chemo where one of the prechemo meds is 1 mg dexamethasone, a steroid. Sure enough, next Day hives improved. I had been prescribed dexa in the past. I took 1 mg daily for three days and hives left and have not returned. Hope they stay gone. ( I have had eczema and asthma for years and have had to take oral steroids from time to time). I expect your doc has a remedy for you. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi, I cannot describe them as pimples but more like tiny little lumps under my chin. The rest of my skin is also very dry. I was supposed to get my last treatment last week but bloods weren’t quite right. The ‘pimples’ only appeared after the fourth or fifth treatment I would say.

Hi Lockygill. I did. More specifically: I got afflicted with pustules all over my scalp, under Paclitaxel/Carboplatin/Avastin . Drove me nuts. Reducing the Paclitaxel dosage by 20%, down to 80%, resulted in the little §$%§$s slowly retreating. Of the various treatments and ointments we tried to get on top of the itching, a combination of Octen*s*pt (a popular wound disinfectant here in Germany) and liquid Dexamethasone seemed to be offering the biggest relief. I even tried Clearasil... for the first time since my Teenage days. ;)

Hope you get rid of the pimples soon. It's really adding insult to injury, isn't it... Keep going. xx. Maus

hi Lockygill, YES! I had pimples all over my face for about two weeks after my chemo treatments. I tried Clearasil, witch hazel ANYTHING to dry them up. Its a pain but resolved itself after Chemo ended. Its funny my skin after chemo seems brand new couldn't understand why it felt so smooth. DUH no little tiny hairs on it. Now my hair is coming in thicker and a beautiful silver with black undertones. I did not have dry skin at all or any itching. Still doing Avastin until next April every three weeks. So far only joint pain but the alternative is so much worse. Hang in there! We have to beat this thing!!!

Hi

I had pimples over my face after each treatment for about 4 days. Even on my eyelids!

I got a liquid antibiotic from the doctor called Dalacin C. The water based one. This really helped. As I kept track of what symptoms occurred on which day after treatment I knew exactly when they would appear. Therefore I started to use it 2 days before. Worked well.

Best wishes

Fay
