Hi,
Can anyone tell me how long after a Neulasta shot does the bone pain start?
I felt the bone pain ...it was after my 2nd shot.i believe it also depends where your body starts to stimulate the bone marrow.mine was at my lower back
I had Filgrastim after each chemo and I think this is similar? Tbh I never noticed bone pain and wasn’t aware it was a side effect. I had the normal pains after each chemo but they’d gone by about day 7 after treatment.
Mine would start 2 days after the shot. It was mostly in legs and sternum.
Thanks for your replies ladies. Always helps to hear from those who have been through it firsthand. Also Eriksendi glad to hear that it’s possible not to have any! I thought I was getting Neulasta but when I got there it turned out to be the shot you had so hoping that makes the difference.
Mine started the next day but some people don't experience it at all. Mine was so severe I refused to take the shot after the 4th one. So all I can say is prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I suggest getting percocet for the bone pain from your doctor if its bad. good luck!
I had been told time and time again that there was nothing available for low blood counts but thanks to the ladies on this site I found filgrastim which I was given eventually. It certainly works well but I did get an aching back after third shot. A sharp pain in the lower back area .
HAD THIS THREE TIMES AND I WAS VERY GRATEFUL FOR THE ONCOLOGY NURSES WHO TOLD ME TO TAKE AN ALLERGY PILL AS SOON AS I GOT HOME. THE MUSCLE SPASMS IN MY BACK AND RIBS LESSENED BUT WERE STILL THERE. I FOUND THAT A SIMPLE ALEVE RESOLVED THE BACK AND RIB PAINS. TOO BAD THE DOCTOR NEVER TOLD ME TO DO THAT. YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. SOME LADIES DON'T SEEM TO EXPERIENCE MUSCLE OR BONE PAIN. BEST OF LUCK AND HOPE THIS HELPS.
GLAD TO HEAR YOU'RE FEELING BETTER NOW. HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING!
