After my last post re bloating, I went to see the stoma team. They tried to irrigate the stoma but it ended up coming out of the wrong hole!!!! ( basically in the car park in my trousers, I can see the funny side now but not then!!!!!!). They spoke to the consultant and arranged for me to go into my local hospital the next day.
I spent yesterday in hospital having examinations and tests. Partial blockage caused by scar tissue, hernia and a narrowing of the stoma. no perforations or obstructions which was good news. I had suppositories which stilllonly cleared my other end, not the bag. Was then given the dreaded gastagraphin. I didn’t realise how terrible it tasted but it did the trick. Re-xrayed and all working now. I’ve been referred back to consultant - reversal looming I think.
What an amazing service from the NHS and in particular my stoma team who are brilliant x x
