Good Morning Ladies - Thank you to all of you that replied to the above question, your advise has been greatly appreciated, and I have been able to come to a conclusion.
I think I am in a calmer place having decided that I do not want to know the answers and am therefore not going to ask the questions, especially "how long have I got left" I never wished to know when I was going to die before diagnosis so why should I want to know now. Especially as the answer will only be a guess based on statistics. I am going to put my trust in my medical team (even if one or two of them are a bit stand-offish!) and assume that everything recommended is for my best outcome. What will be will be, but I am going to give the treatment on offer my undivided attention and work hard to beat this invasion of my body whilst not googling anymore than is absolutely necessary☺Hope you all have a fantastic day and thank you once again.
I fully agree with your post, nobody knows how long they have so we must try to do the best we can with the time we have. Keep on keeping on lovely ❤️Xx Jane
HI. A very wise thing keep away from google about survival times,
When I was diagnosed my family was told I would not see the year out that was 4 years ago,so as you said put your trust in your team I hope all goes well..Take care Lorraine xx
I remember my sister asking the doctor if my mother was going to survive after a serious accident in which she fractured most of her ribs, shoulder, skull and arrested. His answer was 'I am not God'.
Wise words if you believe in God as my mother survived and went on to live a full life.
So when I was diagnosed I told my doctors that they will never quote statistics as I will live my life from day to day.
They respected my wishes. However I was the patient rep when OC guidelines were revised so learned everything about OC anyway!!!!!!
