Hi everyone not visited for long time as I’ve been getting in with life as we now know it. Although I have read all your stories I have rarely contributed. I now find myself with a new ca125 result that has jumped from 9 to 26 drs day let’s wait three months see what happens ok so I wait but how I’m terrified my story so mirrored Claire’s and has lots of you will remember Claire you understand my feelings 😢😢😅😅

Keep positive and don't panic! It could be an infection or anything.

Woah there Shellygirl...everyone is different and their cancer behaves differently. Your Onc is right...watch and wait, your numbers aren’t over 35...could just be a blip. My ca125 was higher than yours back in January but I still have no symptoms..so enjoying myself....not on treatment xx

I had a shock today with my CA125 near as damnit quadrupling since the previous test two weeks ago (465 to 1685). Went into one big style. Had a 5 week break from the parp inhibitor trial as my bloods were too low, so this is what the cancer did while it had the chance, the wily #”!§ er. My trial nurse is so lovely and said things need time to resolve, to keep taking the parp tablets and not worry (oh alright then) as things are mainly stable. So I have tried, went in the garden and took it out on the weeds which have had free rein for two years. And although I totally get what you are saying Shelleygirl and I too remember Clare, I think we have to go on the que sera, sera song and dance routine with Doris Day and see how things pan out. So try and take the long view and let yourself get distracted. For me it is the rest of The Crown, more gardening and night swimming at an open pool near us, with live music and cake. Oh yes, ladies, and especially lovely Shelleygirl, let’s face the music and dance. Xxxx

Yes!! Netti what a fabulous reply poss my favourite ever on this site. Need to have a break from here really, keep getting drawn back in but so glad I saw this it has lifted me right up! Singing and metaphorically dancing round the kitchen now ... Shelleygirl, those are some wise words of wisdom from Netti, hope they’ve helped you feel better xx

We are always here to help each other and I’m so glad you found my post a booster. I have found it hard to like going on this site recently for a number of reasons, but the old names and faves keep me going back just like you do. Here’s to us Elizabethe and all Karaoke style wooden spoon crooners everywhere. X

Hi Shelly,

I was introduced to the term "wobble" on this site, and find it most descriptive. Most of the time we carry on and do what we have to do. But every once in a while, we have a wobble. Nothing to do with over reacting :) No matter how you phrase it, this news of yours is a concern. Big hug.

And everyone's health is so different. Your path and Clare's might have some resemblance, but your outcome could be different. Don't borrow trouble, okay? XXOO

Microbabe in reply toNancy222

Thank you Clare helped so many of us including me I do tend to focus on her journey as we had the same diagnosis. Loving the wobble and don’t borrow trouble it’s opened my eyes this is my path and I don’t need to make it any rockier 😊😊 hug gratefully received 😍

Hi Shelly,

You’ve had a big shock, but try not to panic (haha). Three months is a blink of an eye in cancer terms. Your doctor isn’t worrying, so try not to either.

Lots of love,

Hi Shelly- it’s normal to feel as you do. Watch and wait is easier said than done. On that note, my friend is 12 months out of chemo stage 3c. Her CA125 jumped too. She was so scared and it ended going back down the next month. We all worry so about the slightest ache and pain or blood test. Hang in there.

Shelleygirl sometimes this website does my head in as well. I come and go and try to help where I can. Try to forget as best you can for a few days and wait and see. I think some sage advice has been offered. Sending love Sharon.

Shelleygirl,

It’s easy to say don’t worry but I believe a lot of women do get very anxious every time the CA125 rises, I know I did.

Hopefully it is something else that’s causing it to rise.

It’s so hard not to panic my sensible head says it’s nothing but the numb feeling of omg is it back is a constant worry 🙈

Hello lovely, welcome back it’s lovely to see you again, I do understand your feelings but Claire’s story isn’t yours, we’re all different and your doctor isn’t worried so please try not to worry. You know your CA125 can rise for reasons other than OC however if it is because of this bloody disease your doctor is already watching you so the support is already there and, of course, we’re all here for you too.

Big hugs of encouragement and lots of love ❤️Xx Jane

Hi Shellygirl---you know they also say if it is a relapse (and chances are it may not be) then waiting is said to not change outcome of the next treatment in most cases, so try to think of the waiting as a break from treatment. I don't know if I could do three months--maybe ask for a ca125 in between? But only if you find yourself obsessing instead of focusing more on enjoying. I vacillate between the two! xoxoxxo

Microbabe profile image
Microbabe in reply toMaxjor

Me too I’m not sure at the moment ... I don’t want to wait three months it seems like an age .. think I’m going to speak to my gp 😊

Hi love,

We have spoken already, but it wouldn’t hurt to try and get another ca125 from your doctor, just make sure you feel tip top, because as I said mine went up because of a virul infection, my onc told me not to come to him for bloods if I didn’t feel great......but I still did and now I have to wait until August to make sure it was just a blip.

Mine jumped from 8 to 25.

You know I wish you all the best,

Carole xxx

I’ve just put call in to gp to try to get an earlier test. You feel so rubbish some of the time and don’t realise that you may have an infection so fingers crossed that’s what we have got. OC scares the bejesus out of us and i think that’s where our head will always turn at the slightest hint of pain etc ... horrible disease 😢😢 sending hugs and positive vibes shelly xxxx
