Not to combat stomach pains, but I use it post an upset stomach - it’s suppose day to have the correct nutrients eg potassium in the bananas and is relatively bland to combat diahhorea and solidify things.

May be worth a try. Ali x

Hi Harleeboo,

The BRAT diet is ok after a normal upset stomach for a short time, but is that what you've had? Is it chemo that's causing your pain? Or is something up with your bowel after surgery or due to metastasis?

I'm on a low fibre diet due to potential bowel blockage. How much do you know about the cause of your pain? Do you know about over-flow diarrhoea when constipated?

You really ought to seek medical advice if you are having abdominal pain such that you feel you need to change your diet.

Well, that's the thing, fibre isn't always what we need, sometimes it's just too much for our system to cope with xx

Yes--it is usually recommended when any bowel issues would be further exacerbated by fiber. I had C-diff after a hospital stay and that was pretty horrendous in terms of stomach (and other intestinal) pain. The BRAT diet was followed (and other "white food" like potatoes and white bread). Of course--all this was done with my doctor's input once they knew my problem. Check with them first! Hope you feel better soon. ox
