Hi Tarouza, I’ve just had two occurrences of clear cell (stage 3c) each with operation followed by taxol/carb on the standard 21day cycle and after second occurrence the weekly dose dense taxol/carb plus avastin.
If you’re unsure, and are in Uk then suggest you ask for a second opinion. Also you can ask Ovacome support helpline (0800 008 7054 or email them via their website ovacome.org.uk
Hope you find something to help.
Warm wishes for a good day. Lesley
I have stage 3c clear cell ovatian cancer. I had very successful surgery but the chemo, carbo/taxyl didn't work and the cancer grew back within a few months-so I am platinum resistant and brca negative. I was offered caelyx or the nintedanib trial but instead I paid for a consultation at the London Clinic and was referred immediately to the UCLH research facility and am now on the phase one Patriot trial. I have had my first scan and am waiting for the results.
Hi I'm stage 3a clear cell had 3 but only 1 lot of chemo on initial diagnosis.. 6 sessions and with avastin thanks to the icon 7 trial. As far as I know they still treat with surgery if possible.

Because of the shape of the clear cell it's harder for the chemo to infiltrate the gaps compared to serous cell. You may be platinum sensitive but not on that cell if it's tightly bound to the others.
Do you have much disease present?
