Just wondering if any of you lovely ladies have had a clot in your lung while on chemo
Pulmonary Embolism : Just wondering if any of you... - My Ovacome
Pulmonary Embolism
Hi there Kathy,I had clots in my lungs and in my thighs before having debulking op, I had to have a stent type filter fitted in one of the vessels to my heart to catch the clots should they break away during the operation, then I had blood thinning injections and compression stockings for six months during chemo, all good now. Wishing you all the best for your chemo. xx
Hi Cathy, I had an embolism in my left lung which was found during the MRI scan I had during diagnosis, I had to have a Doppler test to make sure there weren't any clots elsewhere prior to surgery, I self injected heparin daily for a total of 8 months. My oncologist said that heparin protected the veins a little from the chemo and advised to extend the injections from the initially prescribed 6 months (every cloud etc etc 😊). I am prone to nosebleeds so the ones whilst on heparin were spectacular to say the least, some days it looked like a massacre had taken place in the bathroom and I never left the house without tissues.
Good luck with your chemo, it will soon be done with. Keep as well as possible ❤️Xx Jane
No so far I have been lucky but I wish you well
They thought so had one and had all the tests but it turned out there was nothing there so they weren't sure what happened, hope you are ok x
Hi Cathy I developed PE 4 days after my surgery. Was given Fragmin injections and was on them for a year. Apparently I should've only had them for 6 months! Feel ok now though Love Michelle x
I had a PE and I'm now on injectable blood thinners and blood pressure pills. I only have one more chemo to go so hoping to get off these soon.
Thanks for all your replies I have been put on anticoagulant tablets 2a day for 3weeks then go on 1aday after that Didn't really have any symptoms it was picked up with my scan .Dont know how long I'll be on the tablets time will tell I guess
