Hi Kaz, sorry to hear about your lumps and bumps, have you seen a Dr? Maybe you should go. I was on a trial that`s why they did my test, I am happy to say I don`t have either gene so I am very happy as I have 2 daughters and my Mum had breast cancer and a Aunt also, another Aunt had Ovarian cancer x

Deep breaths Kaz, we can do it x x x

Blood test but they couldn't get any blood out of my daughter so they took mouth swabs instead, my results took 3 month to come through but sisters only took 4 weeks and they said should only be 3 weeks for daughter. x

It is a blood test usually. If they know which BRCA mutation they are looking for (i.e. someone in your family has already tested positive for a BRCA mutation) then the results are quicker than if they are looking from scratch.

I tesed positive for a BRCA 1 genetic mutation. Happy to answer any questions you may have.

Best wishes

Sharon

It's just a blood test I'm am being tested because my mum had breast cancer and I've had it twice I have womb cancer this time and I am also being tested for the Lynch syndrome, I have three daughters so really need to know. For their sakes as well as mine.

The breast gene test will take two months but the Lynch four months.
