Has anyone had a reaction to carbo whilst on Avistan and gem. I had 2 lots and it was working ca125 down from 2000 to 274. Catbo no more.

Hi. I had a reaction to Carboplatin, a grade 3 anaphalactic shock, and went on to cisplatin which although harsher worked just fine. There are lots of alternative I was told. I was also on gem at the time having previously had Avastin on the Icon 6 trial. good luck with yr continuing drop in yr CA125 xx

Hi Marian.

I wont lie, I found cisplatin harsher but both times I have had this as a treatment it has put me back into remission. the last time it took 3 cycles for no evidence of disease to be found during a midway scan. I did still, however, complete the full 6 cycles, finishing in Nov 2013. My Ca125 continues to be below 3. I am currently on the Solo 2 trial. I wish you well xx

you have to meet certain criteria, the main one having a brac1 or brac2 gene.

maybe u shud enquire of yr consultant. i dont know wat the other criteriaare to be honest. i have the brac2 gene. had cancer 3 times. first diagnosed in 2007.

Hi, I am a little different to you but I became allergic to carbo on my 2nd line treatment, I was having it with taxol which they continued that alone. I am now on 3rd line treatment and because I am allergic to carbo I am having cisplatin which is the sister drug of carbo xx
