hi I have a 7 nearly 8 year old girl. We have a referral going through for asd.

Basically she takes forever to sleep we are talking 11pm as average sometimes later and it's just a nightmare getting her to sleep.

We have a bedtime routine and she doesn't have any devices before bedtime etc it's bath cereals story and bed. Her anxiety re school is unreal before bed (she doesn't like school and we are struggling there)

just after any advice etc

Hi Zzzzzmum1 ,

Sorry to hear you are having difficulties with your little ones sleep and anxiety, there are some services about that may be able to help you! For her sleep there is a service called Nansa, they specialise in children's sleep and have a free Sleep Helpline. The helpline is available every Monday (term time) from 10am – 3pm on 01603 728673. Here is their website in case you wanted to have a bit of a look - nansa.org.uk/sleep-service/.

There is a section on the Just One Norfolk website around school anxiety, here is the link: justonenorfolk.nhs.uk/schoo....

If you feel your daughter needs some support with her anxiety you can also complete a referral for support through the Emotional Health part of Just One Norfolk.

I hope these help a bit, and don't forget you can always call into Just One Number to talk things through with someone on 0300 300 0123.

Hiya, I just saw this and wanted to check in and see how things were going? I can see you’ve been given some brilliant advice in the previous post. Have you found anything useful?

I know a lot of us find the sleep routine can be really challenging at times. I just wanted to give some encouragement, as I know it gets exhausting. My daughter struggled with school anxiety and sleep it was a lot of late nights and exhausting melt downs. For us we did a lot of the things you have tried but also had to get help from the specific services. It took a bit of time but through repetition and trial and error we really made positive change with the sleep routine. Big good luck lovely with everything ☺️ xx
