I'm writing after facing an exhausting, emotional week with my 8 year old son. In the last month he has (his words)faced his enemies with a tic,an explosive stammer and OCD. His emotions are all over the place and his wellbeing. From being a confident, feisty little man he has become withdrawn, emotional and detached. We await to hear from our referrals. I just feel so sorry for him and I'm hoping this is just a phase that will pass. He is a ball of emotions. I'm sure there are many other parents who have and are facing similar issues with their babies.

Hi SethEthan ,
Sorry to hear you have all had such a tough week.
You mentioned awaiting referrals so it sounds like you have sought appropriate support and are just awaiting the appointments to come through.
I understand the wait can be really tough, especially when you are noticing such a change in your son.
I will suggest a few links which may give you something to be trying in the meantime, and hopefully some other parents will be able to offer some other ideas or moral support.

I would also suggest that if you have noticed any changes in your child since making a referral, it is worth contacting them again to update them as some services triage and may be able to offer a sooner appointment.
