Weaning and formula change

Hi. As I seem to have forgotten exactly what I did with my daughter when I was weaning her. I'd thought I'd ask.

When my 5month old starts weaning hopefully around 6months or just a bit before or after. Do i change his formula to the next stage one, once he's 6 months or do I change it when he starts eating food?

Hello Chow44,

There is no need to change your little one's formula to the next stage, research has shown that there is no nutritional benefit from follow on milk. Of course if you wish to make the change that is entirely your choice and it is suitable from 6 months onwards.

Some useful websites which offer advice around formula milk and up to date weaning guidelines are:

nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy...

firststepsnutrition.org/par...

nhs.uk/start4life/weaning/

I hope you find this useful and has answered your question.
