I had my op almost 6 months ago, and I know during the procedure my right lung was deflated.

I have still not got the full function back and get breathless easily. Is this normal and when should my breathing get back to how it was before the operation.

I had my operation in February and referred a football match in the November, but, to be honest, it was a couple of years before I really got my wind back, and my problem was not cancer related.

It does take time, but progress is usually steady rather than quick!

Hi,

My op was 5 fives ago and I did struggle for the first 9 months running out of breath very quickly, it did come back slowly and I was back playing 5 a side football at 18 months after the op.

It is a slow and steady route back to feeling fit again.

If you are concerned, please speak to your consultant or GP but it is a big intrusive op and full recovery does take time.

Best regards,

Dave C
