Hi
You should definitely go and see you specialist nurse and discuss this.
Most likely is that the scarring around the join has thickened and needs what is known as a "stretch" which is a straightforward procedure that will often alleviate the problem. Sometimes a series of stretches are required.
At the same time there could be other reasons for this difficulty which can only be ascertained by your support team who are totally familiar with your situation.
Do let us know the outcome.
I wish you well
Larry
Thanks for that Larry, Iwill do that on Monday.Sandra
I agree 100% with Larry, ring your nurse. I have had 8 stretches, and are nothing to worry about. Like you food began to stick, but it was all resolved with an endoscopy where they pass a small balloon down the oesophagus and stretch the site of the join where your problem probably lies. It is painless, and opens everything up again.
Good luck and stay well

Thanks for your support Edwena. You stay well to kind regards Sandra
Hi,
Speak to your nurse, it is a simple edoscopy dilation procedure, I had 3 over the years since surgery, the 3rd was 2 years ago and has fixed the problem.
Nothing to worry about as quite a common issue but easily fixed.
Best regards,
Dave C
Thanks Dave. Sandra
Hi sandrasmith, I am new to this site, I fully agree with other replies. I had my op 12 months ago, I had trouble swallowing and have had to sretches up to now the last one 2 weeks ago
and i can feel the difference already. It is painless and a quick procedure.
Good luck
